LEWISTON – Germaine R. Leen of Sabattus and formerly of Old Orchard Beach, died Thursday, Feb. 5, at d’Youville Pavilion following a courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.
She was born in Lewiston the daughter of Adrien “Bill” Charest and Evelyne (Jalbert) (Charest) Ouellette. She grew up and attended schools in Lewiston.
She worked for the RCA Co. in Lewiston, Happy Jacks Restaurant as a hostess for several years, the Red Coach Restaurant in Portland, and most recently at Shaws Supermarket in Scarborough for nine years where she retired.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Carroll Leen of Sabattus whom she married on Dec. 31, 1974; her son, Henry Daigneault Jr. of Lewiston; her two daughters, Tina Dionne of Lewiston and Tami Gosselin and her husband Peter of Lewiston; two brothers, Richard Charest and his wife Lorraine of Sabattus and Robert Charest of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Jeannette Miers of Schumberg, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Katrina, Jason, Brandin, Evan, Cody, Emily and Logan; one great-granddaughter, Kaylyn; two stepsons, William Leen and Peter Leen; four stepdaughters, SueEllen Latona, Andrea Leen, Tracy Tumblison, and Sidney Bauersfeld.
She was predeceased by her parents; her stepfather, Ernest Ouellette; and her grandson, Nathan.
