BOSTON (AP) – Maine’s Jeff Mushaluk netted a goal in the third period to break a tie and help lead the Black Bears to a 3-1 victory over Northeastern Friday night.

Mushaluk’s goal came at 3:26 in the final period with an assist from Derek Damon.

Greg Moore followed Mushaluk’s goal at 8:50 in the third period to seal the win.

with assists from Todd Jackson and Mike Lundin.

Maine (21-6-2, 12-4-1 Hockey East) had the first goal of the game at 5:39 in the second period when Mike Hamilton grabbed a goal on a power play.

Jason Guerriero responded with a goal for Northeastern 2:06 later in the second period to tie the game.

Northeastern (8-14-6, 2-11-4) was unable to convert any of its six power-play opportunities, while Maine converted one of four.

Maine’s Frank Doyle had 30 saves for the win. Northeastern’s Keni Gibson had 31 saves for the loss.
