RUMFORD – The men and women of Stephens High School class of 1954 will meet for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Sam’s. Following the luncheon there will be a short work session for those wishing to work on the reunion arrangements.

Seniors lunch

DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet for an 11 a.m. potluck luncheon Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Legion Hall. Entertainment will be by Barry Wood. Membership is open to anyone age 50 or over. Dues are $5 a year. New members welcomed. For more information, call Connie at 364-4189.

Society program

RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the conference room of the municipal building. Following a short business meeting, Dorothy Dunton will present a program on the history of the Search Light Club. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

Teleconference

RUMFORD – Dr. Wade Hamilton will speak and answer questions on Familial Hyperlipidemia via interactive teleconference from Central Maine Medical Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in Conference Room A at Rumford Hospital.

People with this condition often have heart attacks and premature cardiac death or stroke regardless of their diet. These complications can now be prevented with medications. Untreated, some people with this condition will die in their 30s – especially men.

Hamilton is part of the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute and is a Harvard-trained pediatric cardiologist who lectures to medical colleagues on the topic of Familial Hyperlipidemia.

The program begins at 6:30 and light, heart healthy dinner fare will be served. Participants must register in advance by calling 369-1143 by Monday, Feb. 23.
