NEWRY – An open house is scheduled at the College for Lifelong Learning at Sunday River, Friday, March 26, and Tuesday, April 30.
The partnership between the college and Sunday River combines academic experience, employment in a growing industry and outdoor lifestyle.
Participants who work at Sunday River throughout the ski season attend the college classes during the remainder of the year right at the mountain. Students progress toward an associate or bachelor’s degree while spending time at the resort. Non-employees can add winter term courses.
Participants in the innovative program benefit from a coordinated approach that provides academic counseling with job training. Courses, such as lodging operations and management being offered this spring, are directly related to job experience, making learning more beneficial.
