LEWISTON – The Just Us entertainers are sponsoring a USO Canteen Dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on East Avenue. A few tickets will be available at the door. The cost is only $7 and there will be a cash bar.

Some of the songs featured in the program will include “Satin Doll,” “Because of You,” “Green Eyes,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “String of Pearls,” plus many others from the 1940s.

The entertainers are a group dedicated to keeping old-time favorite songs alive. Memorabilia from the 1940s will be on display. People attending the dance have the option of dressing up in the 1940s attire or in military uniforms from that era, like most of the members of the Just Us singers.

Members of the group include Bob Grandmaison, Bob Meservier, Anita Deschenes, Carmen Nadeau, Melissa Noel, Debbie Poulin, Jackie Asselin, Rose Frederick, Connie Lambert, Doris Surette, Norm Laplante, Paul Jalbert, Marcel St. Pierre and Bert Dutil. Music is provided by Nel Meservier on the keyboard.
