Police made the arrest after a chase.
LEWISTON – Police arrested Mohamed Abdikadir Tuesday night after a fight in the Knox Street neighborhood.
Sgt. Danny LaChance said Abdikadir, 24, slashed Abdirizak Mohamed, 20, with a utility knife several times following a heated argument. A neighbor heard the disturbance just after 9 p.m. and called police.
Abdikadir was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault after a foot chase onto Park Street. LaChance said Mohamed was treated at Central Maine Medical Center for cuts on his face and head that required stitches.
