1924 – 2004

LEWISTON – Liane V. LeBrun, 79, died late Monday evening, March 1, at her home on Webber Avenue surrounded by her loving family following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Lewiston on May 4, 1924, the daughter of Adelard and Lucia (Poulin) Vachon. A life long resident of Lewiston, received her education at Holy Family Grade School and Lewiston High School.

On Aug. 10, 1946, “Lil” and Paul E. LeBrun Jr. now a retired Lieutenant from the Lewiston Fire Department were married at Holy Family Church.

Mrs. LeBrun was a member of Holy Cross Church, a homemaker and a seamstress for 12 years for the Ramada Inn.

While raising her family, her talent in baking led her into making and decorating wedding and anniversary cakes for some of the most prominent families in the surrounding areas. In her spare time “Lil” enjoyed playing cards and beano. Most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-niece, Nancy, the daughter she never had.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Jr. of 57 years of Lewiston; four sons, Donald and his wife Nancy of Litchfield, N.H., Richard and his wife Myrna of Rochester Hills, Mich., Paul III and his wife Lindasue of Saginaw, Mich., and Denis and his wife Louise of Greene; two sisters, Cecile St. Pierre of Venice, Calif., and Yvonne St. Pierre of Lewiston; one brother, Roger Vachon and his wife Priscilla of Port Richey, Fla.; two granddaughters, Linda and Christine; four grandsons, Mark and his wife Shannon, Tom, Richard Jr. and his wife Kelly, and Mike; one stepgrandson, CPL Allen Monteith USMC; one great-grandson, Paul John; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Jeannette Castonguay, Juliette Blais and Theresa Silvia; and two brothers, Roland and Robert Vachon.
