1926 – 2004

LEWISTON – Lucienne B. Godbout, 77, of Center Bridge Road, Turner, former Lewiston resident died Wednesday evening, March 3, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion were her life journey here on earth has ended but her new journey begins in heaven to be with our Lord, her eldest daughter, Anita and her beloved late husband, Roger.

Born in Lewiston on Nov. 10, 1926, the daughter of Elphege and Marie-Louise (Gosselin) Baril. She worked in the local textile industry as an inspector and had worked for many years at the family owned business the former Roger’s Variety Store.

On Sept. 4, 1948, she married Roger A. Godbout who died on Jan. 12, 1990. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Drouin and her husband Richard of Turner, Pauline Charette and her husband John of Lisbon; three brothers, Lucien Baril and his wife Giberte of Lewiston, Fern Baril and his wife Jackie of Lewiston, Roger Baril and his wife Darlene of Carson, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Jonathan Charette and Kimberly Drouin; one great-granddaughter, Angel.

Predeceased by three sisters, Marie-Jeanne Labonte, Marie-Blanche Gendron and Theresa Labonte; and by one brother, Arthur Baril.
