1912 – 2004

LEWISTON – Carmen Y. St.Amand, 91, a lifelong resident of Winslow, died Thursday, March 4, at d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Waterville on June 5, 1912, she was the daughter of Ernest and Marie (Ferland) Michaud. She married Antonio G. St.Amand on Oct. 10,1932. She was educated in Waterville schools and for a brief time worked at C.F. Hathaway Shirt Co.

Most of her life she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jean Baptist Church in Winslow. She enjoyed spending time at Roach Pond in Kokadjo.

She leaves her son, Richard St.Amand and his companion Rena Blanchette of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Lorna Verville of RI, Michael St.Amand of Auburn, Jeffrey St.Amand of Lewiston, Kathleen Hallee of Waterville, Douglass King of Augusta and Maila Anderson of CA.; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband; her daughter, Valma “Lolly” St.Amand King; two brothers, Renault and Alvah Michaud; five sisters, Ernestine Fotter, Laurette Poulin, Priscilla Michaud, Mancianette Violette, and Dorita at age 3; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia M. St.Amand; she will also be greatly missed by her many loving nieces and nephews.
