LEWISTON – Martel Chapter, Association Canado Americaine, will present three short films at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave., in association with International French Week.

Three short comedic episodes from Quebec writer Claude H. Grignon will be shown. “Les Belles Histoires” is based on the radio and TV series about Miser Seraphin and hardships during the North Country colonial days. All are welcome at the free event.

Seniors dinner

AUBURN – The New Auburn Senior Citizens Club will host a beef stew dinner at noon Wednesday, March 17, at the St. Louis Church basement hall. Cost is $3 for members only. Members are asked to buy their tickets at the first meeting prior to the dinner date.

The regular meeting was held March 3 with President Virginia Levasseur presiding. March birthdays were noted and token gifts given.

Plans for the annual sugar trip to Lake Megantic, Quebec, Canada set for April 1.The bus will leave St. Louis Church at 6:30 a.m. Cost is $30 a person and those going can bring a friend. Call Fern at 784-4481 if planning to go. The money is due March 17.

Plans are being made for members who do crafts to bring in a sample of their work to be judged and prizes given. The event will be held in June. Pot of gold winners were Dot Strasen, Adele Gagnon, Irene Beauchesne and Christine Poulin.

Members going to Foxwoods on Tuesday, March 16, will meet at the Lewiston exit of the turnpike at 4:30 a.m.

The meeting adjourned, a light lunch was served and bingo played. Open bingo for seniors 60 and over will be held March 10, 24 and 31.
