LEWISTON – Kids Town section of the children’s wing is under construction at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Lewiston-Auburn.

The fellowship completed a 9,000-square-foot renovation of its children’s facility in September.

Kids Town, however, will be a creative and fun place for children. The long hallway is being converted to Main Street. Children from ages 0 to 12 will enjoy the creativity as they walk through the town on a Sunday morning to be registered in one of the various workshops coordinating with the theme at the time.

The workshops will include visits to the theater, living history museum, the café, or maybe a stop in the general store.

The children’s staff serves approximately 140 children on any given Sunday while the parents hear a teaching from the Bible that can be applied to their daily lives.

The atmosphere is friendly, casual and comfortable, so guests and attendees are encouraged to bring their families. Sunday services are offered at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Beginning on Sunday, March 21, a 6 p.m. service will also be offered.

The Vineyard Christian Fellowship is occupied by approximately 100 students and 15 faculty and staff of the Vineyard Christian School, directed by Aaron D. Strout, Monday through Friday.

The school will hold an open house at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at which time Main Street, Kids Town, should be complete.

Call the school office at 784-9500 for more information or to inquire about immediate openings or enrollment opportunities for the fall semester. The school educates students from prekindergarten through grade 12 and offers after-school care and a toddler program.
