1952 – 2004

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Janice T. Talpey, 52, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Friday, March 5, at St. Petersburg General Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 6, 1952, the daughter of James P. and Mary L. Lavoie Bushey. She was educated in Lewiston.

Married to James Talpey in 1973, she moved to New Hampshire, then to Raymond, and finally in 1989 to St. Petersburg.

A homemaker most of her life, she also did work as a seamstress at home making clothes for her children, curtains and draperies for her home and making costumes and vests for her church’s school children.

She attended St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, and also enjoyed photography.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 30 years, James R. “Jim” Talpey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Shawn and Tony Talpey, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Anita Stover of Casco; two sisters, Lorraine Mineweaser of Summerville, S.C., and Marlene Davis of Lewiston; one brother, Steven Bushey of Bangor; eight grandchildren; her best friend, Louise Casper of Lewiston; and finally, Banjo and Maddy, her two dogs, and Poco, her parrot.

She was predeceased by her father, James, in 1997; her mother, Mary, in 2002; a sister, Lucille, in 1995; and one brother, Richard, in 2001.
