LIVERMORE FALLS – St. Patrick’s Day will be observed Monday by the Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens when they meet at Murray Hall. Members are asked to wear green.

Monday is also the last day to sign up for the SeniorsPlus baked ham meal. The Easter meal will be a potluck lunch with every member to take a covered dish.

SeniorsPlus is having a trip in May to visit the Maine History Museum and the Wadsworth Longfellow House and other points of interest. More information can be obtained by calling 645-3515.

On March 8, Chairman Shirley Couture opened the meeting and Mary Groleau led singing of “Little Brown Church in the Vale.”

She reported that Gene Roy had traveled to Bangor Sunday to meet the plane arriving from Iraq carrying 140 servicemen including his daughter’s son-in-law.

Guidelines were established for the new Beano games and Irene Hebert announced that the Friendship Club had enjoyed the items donated to them for prizes at their games.

After the meeting a Chinese auction was held which collected $54. Fred Legere won the drawing and Clemence Moreau won a gardener’s pot donated by Jeannette Buck.

At the March 1 meeting, the opening hymn was “Amazing Grace” and Pauline Coombs was welcomed back. Thank yous were received from the Nemi family and Sybil Bailey.

Chairman Shirley Couture has been designated as a dining room coordinator by SeniorsPlus. The drawing was won by Joan Lauzier and a door prize, donated by Athanase Couture, was won by Dora Slovak.

Happy birthday was sung to those with February birthdays including: Evelyn Caron, Cora Briggs, Elodie Blanchard, Jeannette Buck, Gloria Bickford, Gail Lachance, Gene Pomerleau, Bill Chabot, Nellie Tidswell, Rose Shink and Cecile Hathaway.
