1915 – 2004

WATERVILLE – Janette May (Clark) Lidstone, 89, died Friday, March 19, in the Thayer Unit at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville, after a short illness. She had recently moved from Concord, NH to Volmer Country Living Center in Vassalboro.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1915, in Wilton, the daughter of Moses Alvin and Clara May (Walton) Clark.

She graduated from Wilton Academy in 1932 and Farmington State Normal School in 1935. In her earlier years she taught school in Jay and East Wilton.

On Aug. 12, 1939, she married Theredon J. Lidstone.

She had a great love for music and sang many solos at weddings and in church during her earlier years. Later in life she moved to New Hampshire and held the position of caregiver for Carolyn L. Jenkins and later the caretaker of the estate. She played the piano until recently at her church in New Hampshire. Gardening and flowers were also a great love in her life.

She was a former member of the Wilton Methodist Church, the North Jay Grange and Excelsior Pomona Grange. She was involved for many years in the local 4-H Club. She belonged to the Worldwide Church of God in New Hampshire.

She is survived by four sons, David E. and his wife, Barbara of Concord, N.H., Vincent I. and his wife, Janet of Trenton, Ga., Ralph E. and his wife, Jeannie of New Sharon and Moses A. and his wife, Shirley of Unity; one daughter, Lorna L. Horne of Unity; 10 grandchildren, Leal, Shiloh, Salem, Danica, Christopher, Lauri, Faith, Michelle, David J. and Holly; 8 great-grandchildren; two former sisters-in-law, Gayle McBean of Farmington and Pamela Proctor of Winslow and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Theredon J. Lidstone and two brothers, Raymond L. and Robert A. Clark.
