AUBURN – The East Auburn Baptist Church will present its Easter production, “The Event,” in which people can experience the last days of Christ’s life.

This theatrical presentation with a cast of more than 100 people will be at the church, 9 Church St.

Matinees at 2 p.m. and evening performances at 7 p.m. will be held on April 3, 4 and 10.

Nightly performances will be held at 7 p.m. on April 7, 8 and 9.

“Now more than ever, people are seeking answers and wanting to fully embrace the message of Christ this Easter season, thanks in part to the film phenomenon ‘The Passion of the Christ,” said Randy Corey, the production’s director.

East Auburn Baptist Church has built a reputation for its productions, such as its “Christmas Spectacular” and “The Event,” its Easter performance.

“We have been committed from the beginning, six years ago, in our Easter production that we would not hold back in accurately showing the death and torture that our Savior endured in his last days here on earth. Christ died because we mattered to God. That’s the honest and brutal reality of what he did for us on the cross,” Corey said.

“The Event” uses lights, music, special effects, costumes and choreography to create a theatrical event comparable to an off-Broadway production.

Tickets are available at the Bible Bookstore or at Republic Jewelers, both located on Center Street in Auburn.
