AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, on campus.

Faculty members and students services staff will be on hand to provide information on financial aid, the admissions process, options for transferring to four-year colleges and to give tours. There will also be refreshments and door prizes.

The school offers more than 30 career or technical programs, the newest of which is a concentration in criminal justice, which includes coursework designed to transfer into criminal justice programs at a number of other institutions. A criminal justice degree prepares students for careers in corrections or law enforcement at the local, state or federal level.

“Students who are not sure of their career or educational goals are welcome at Central Maine Community College,” said Elizabeth Oken, admissions director.

“Our general studies program offers courses they will need in virtually any program they choose. Our liberal studies program offers an affordable, accessible place to begin a college career for those who expect to continue their education at the bachelor’s degree level,” she said.

Courses and degrees are transferable to the University of Southern Maine and other four-year colleges and universities.

The college can provide financial aid and other student assistance. Central Maine Community College students may participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, including athletics. Housing is available on campus.
