Two areas seniors have been named to receive the Principal’s Award.

Vanessa Fereshetian of Turner, a senior at Leavitt Area High School, has been selected, said Principal David Wing. Joseph Bissonnette of Lewiston has been chosen to represent St. Dominic Regional High School, announced Principal Michael Welch.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principal’s Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Wing said, “Vanessa has distinguished herself in the classroom, finishing in the top 10 and as a three-sport athlete in cross country, Nordic skiing and track. Vanessa volunteered as a coach of the middle school Nordic ski team and was recently selected as the DAR Award winner for Leavitt Area High School.” He added, “She very much deserves this recognition.”

The award winners and their prinicipals will attend an honors luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the Bangor Civic Center.
