1912 – 2004

CANTON – Velma E. Fulton, 91, died, Thursday, March 25, at the Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center. A resident of Canton the past three years, she formerly had resided on Whitman Street in Mexico and had lived in the area since 1946.

She was born in North New Portland, on Aug. 14, 1912, a daughter of Walter and Birdena (Steward) Spaulding, and had attended schools in Madrid.

For many years she sold Stanley Products as a Stanley Dealer in the area.

She loved traveling, the outdoors, especially camping, fishing and her family, and she was an avid card player.

She was married in Mexico, on June 27, 1933, to the late Hugh J. Fulton who died in Roxbury, on Aug. 23, 1978.

Survivors include three sons, Hugh Fulton Jr. of Ventura, Calif., Keith Fulton and wife Della of Sunapee, N.H., Dale Fulton and wife Doris of Richland, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Sharee Thompson and husband Robert of Roxbury, Mrs. Birdena Allen and husband David of Livermore Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Ferdona Young of Mexico, Mrs. Christine Schmersal of Mexico, Mrs. Carlene Philbrick of Mexico; a brother, Stanley Spaulding of Mexico; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Basil Spaulding.
