LOVELL – The Lovell United Church of Christ, Route 5, Center Lovell, will hold the following Easter services:

April 11, Easter sunrise service, 6 a.m., Sweden Community Church, Route 93 hill near four corners. Potluck breakfast following.

NORWAY – The First Universalist Church of Norway Unitarian Universalist, 479 Main St. will hold the following Easter services:

April 4, Palm Sunday, “Calm Before the Storm” 11 a.m.

April 11, Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m., at Mary Ann Brown’s, Perham’s Hill, West Paris. Breakfast will follow.

April 11, Easter service, 11 a.m. “In Small and Big Ways: We Are Kept from Destroying Ourselves in Small Ways.”

Easter worship

NORTH WATERFORD – Rev. George Frobig has announced the schedule for Easter worship for Oxford County United Parish as follows:

April 4, Palm Sunday, 10 a.m. at the North Waterford Congregational Church, Five Kezars Road. Rev. Diane Wood of Mexico will be preaching. Her husband will provide music for the service.

April 8, Maundy Thursday Service, 6 p.m., at the North Waterford Church vestry. The service will include a simple supper, holy communion, and participation by the Youth Group acting out the Tenebre service.

April 9, Good Friday, Rev. Frobig will be at the North Waterford Church from noon to 7 p.m. with a brief devotion starting each hour.

April 11, 5:50 a.m. sunrise service, at the Town Beach, Keoka Lake. The service will be jointly led by Rev. Frobig and Rev. Anita White of the Waterford Congregational Church. Easter breakfast will be served at the North Waterford Congregational Church Vestry following the sunrise service.

Egg hunt

NORWAY – There will be an Easter egg hunt offered by the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center for children ages 10 and under, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at 29 Marion Avenue. Children need to bring their own baskets. FMI call Georgia at 743-7075.

LOVELL – The Lovell United Church of Christ will hold an “Egg-Citement” Easter egg hunt, crafts, games, and egg dying for children in fifth grade or younger from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 3, at the church, Route 5, Center Lovell.

Poetry event planned

NORWAY – A poetry event called “Too Cold for the Porch” will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Fare Share Commons. Sign-ups are at 6:30 p.m. or at Fare Share Market. April is National Poetry Month. A $1 donation is suggested.

Thrift shop looking for help

LOVELL – The Lovell Thrift Shop on Route 5 is open from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Volunteers are needed to help for one or two hours anytime. Call Barbara Tripp at 452-2188, Peg Mason at 935-7528, or Audrey Clout at 925-6875.
