CASCO – Amy J. Plummer of Casco, has been named Mrs. Cumberland County International 2004 for the Mrs. Maine competition to be held April 23 to 25 at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center, Winthrop.

Plummer is the wife of Michael O. Plummer and the mother of Kalor R. Plummer. She is the daughter of Lionel and Janice Turbide of Casco, the daughter-in-law of Pamela Spearin of Bridgton and Ronald and Wanda Plummer, also of Casco. She is employed by Dr. Nelson D. Henry, DMD in Windham.

The international competition requires each contestant to speak on behalf of a personally chosen platform. Plummer will speak on behalf of prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome through education and awareness.

Plummer has been the public relations specialist for the Don’t Shake Awareness Program since 2001. She will continue to advocate for children.

The winner of the Mrs. Maine International competition will win a prize package valued at approximately $10,000 and will represent the state at the national competition in Chicago in July.
