BATH – The Androscoggin Valley Conservation District will partner with the Nonpoint Source Training Center to bring a road design workshop to officials of local communities.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the Bath Municipal Auditorium. John Simon, PE, will provide classroom instruction during the morning session on topics such as ditch and culvert stabilization, estimating watersheds, permitting and planning for other erosion control measures. The afternoon session will involve field work and preliminary design for erosion control.

As a follow-up to the workshop and to help communities plan for good erosion control, eight hours of free technical assistance by an engineer or engineering technician will be available to each participating town.

Preregistration is required for the workshop and must be made by Friday, April 23. Cost is $25, and coffee and snacks, lunch and reference materials will be provided. To register or to learn more about the workshop, call 753-9400, ext. 400.
