AUBURN – An Auburn man was injured Sunday afternoon when he jumped in front of his slowly moving car and became pinned between the vehicle and his home.

According to Auburn police, a child put James Leslie’s car in gear, causing the vehicle to move a few feet toward his Washington Park Road mobile home. Leslie, 36, had been working on the car and jumped in front of it to stop it, police said.

Leslie was transported to Central Maine Medical Center with hip and abdominal injuries. Police said his injuries did not appear life-threatening.

The hospital declined to release information about Leslie’s condition Sunday evening, citing confidentiality laws.
