AUBURN – The New Auburn Senior Citizens will host an Easter dinner with ham and all the fixings at noon Wednesday, April 21, at the St. Louis Church basement hall. Cost is $3 and for members only. Members are asked to buy their tickets by Wednesday, April 14, for a head count.

The regular meeting was held April 7 with Fern Bussiere, vice president, presiding. April birthdays were noted and small gifts given.

New members welcomed were Jules and Marielle Rodrique, Stella Bard and Yvon and Kathleen Saucier. Pot of gold winners were Del Preo, Jean Paul Poulin, Joan Lewis and Alma Morin.

The meeting was adjourned, a light lunch was served and bingo followed. The next meeting will be noon Wednesday, May 5. Open bingo for seniors 60 and over will be played Wednesday, April 14 and 28. All seniors are welcome.
Rotary meeting
LEWISTON – The program at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meeting at noon Thursday, April l5, at the Ramada Inn was rescheduled from April 1.

Bill McKenna of the Augusta Rotary Club will give a slide presentation of his motorcycle tour of Australia last summer to raise awareness of the Rotary International Polio Plus immunization program. McKenna is assistant district governor for Rotary District 7790.

Anyone interested in the program or in knowing more about Rotary is invited to attend. The cost of the luncheon is $8.
Open house
POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Old Schoolhouse, 1229 Maine St., next to the Town Office.

The society moved into the schoolhouse last summer and has been holding its meetings there since September. Members spent the winter working on exhibits relating to Poland’s history. The public is invited to tour the facility.
Grange Sunday
AUBURN – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will observe the annual Go-to-Church Sunday by attending the 10 a.m. service at the United Methodist Church of Auburn on Sunday, April 18. Grange members should meet in the vestry by 9:45 to enter the sanctuary as a body. After church they will dine at the Chickadee Restaurant in Turner. All members and guests are invited.
Work day
WEST BOWDOIN – A stewardship work day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 18, at the Purinton Homestead.

Those wishing are invited to the Androscoggin Land Trust’s first official work day on the Purinton Homestead Preserve, which covers more than 140 acres and protects the rural and historic landscape of the area. Those going will post boundary markers, post signs, pick up trash and explore as time allows. Anyone who can supply a truck for the work day is asked to call. Water and snacks will be provided.

Those going should meet at the preserve entrance off West Road in West Bowdoin. Call Mike at 225-5705 for directions
