TOPSHAM – Sam St. Hilaire threw a no-hitter and got strong support at the plate to lead Leavitt to a 11-0 romp over Mt. Ararat.
St. Hilaire helped herself with a bases-loaded triple in the seventh inning, sending three across the plate. Laura Pratt and Lindsey Sierra chipped in for the Hornets (2-0) with two RBIs apiece.
Rachel Dyer threw six innings for the Eagles (0-2).
Poland 9, Wells 8
POLAND – Meghan Ford and Mindy Thomas combined for six hits and four RBIs to lead Poland to a 9-8 victory over Wells in WMC softball action Thursday.
Thomas keyed a six-run explosion in the third inning for the Knights (3-0), giving them an 8-3 advantage. Brianna Pratt struck out five batters in four innings and earned the win.
Amy Ramsdell led the Warriors (1-1) with three hits and three runs scored. Cassie Hutzler added a pair of hits for Wells.
Telstar 7, Liv. Falls 2
LIVERMORE FALLS – Kayla Mills drilled a two-run double to left-center field in the top of the fifth inning to propel Telstar to a 7-2 win over Livermore Falls in MVC softball openers.
The Rebels (1-0) loaded the bases in the fifth inning on a single, a bunt, and a bothched fielder’s choice to set the stage for Mills’ line drive that put the game out of reach.
Jilliam Kimball tossed a five-hitter to record the victory.
The Andies (0-1) were led by Taran Flagg who chipped in with a pair of hits, including a triple, while Marjone Debrosky added a double. Cassandra Purrington took the loss going five innings.
Oxf. Hills 6, Gardiner 5
SOUTH PARIS – Chelsey Cummings broke a 5-5 deadlock with a solo home run in the sixth inning to lift Oxford Hills to a 6-5 victory over Gardiner.
Bailey Holloway chipped in for the Vikings (2-0) with an RBI triple. Randi Arsenault went the distance for Oxford Hills, allowing 11 hits while posting the win.
Deskee Mercado and Becky Dixon led the Tigers (0-2) with three hits each. Courtney Allen held the mound for Gardiner, allowing six hits on the day.
