PORTLAND – A 3-year-old Minot toddler struck Friday by a pickup truck in his yard remained in critical condition Sunday night.
Tristan Ledwell is being treated at Maine Medical Center. He was hurt when a truck driven by his father, Todd Ledwell, backed up, knocking the boy down.
Todd Ledwell was doing yard work, using the truck to move brush at his 325 Pottle Hill Road home. His son was playing nearby.
Police investigating the accident said that when the truck began backing up, the boy was well off to the side.
“The father looked away just for a second and that’s all it took” said Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Jacques.
