Charlotte Louvat received The Citizen of the Year Award.
RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 held installation of officers on March 20, at the lodge. The installing suite came from Farmington Lodge of Elks 2430. A prime rib supper was served before the ceremony.

Donald Richard of Farmington, past exalted ruler, invested the “jewel of office” and gave the “gavel of authority” to incoming Exalted Ruler George Wyman.

Officers installed were: Sandra Welch, leading knight; Steve Letarte, loyal knight; Ann Wood, lecturing knight; Debi Briggs, secretary; Jim White, treasurer; Richard Welch, trustee; George Carrier, tiler; and Christine Moore, esquire.

Absent were Albert Pomerleau Jr., inner guard, and Robert Dube, chaplain. Other officers include trustees Richie Philbrick, David Briggs, Bebe Belanger and Bill Murphy.

Outgoing Exalted Ruler Maryann Murphy presented the Citizen of the Year Award to Charlotte Louvat.

Dancing to the music of the E&I Band was held after installation.

Wyman said he has lots of plans for the year, with the help of his officers and committee members, such as hoop shoot/soccer, shoot-out/punt, pass and kick, drug awareness and Americanism programs, scholarships and the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
