LEWISTON – Police arrested three men Wednesday night on felony drug charges as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

“I’m sure we’ll see more arrests and some federal indictments as well,” said Sgt. James Rioux of Lewiston police. The arrests were made by the Lewiston Police Special Enforcement Team with assistance from a federal drug task force.

Police pulled over a vehicle that was spotted leaving a house that had been under surveillance by the drug agents. Upon searching the vehicle, police found 12 grams of crack cocaine and a firearm.

Arrested were BJ Almeida, 25, of Shaker Woods Road, New Gloucester; Vernon Milliken, 40, of 47 North Raymond Road, Gray; and John Letourneau, 38, of 1965 Lisbon Road. Almeida and Milliken each face one charge of aggravated trafficking; Letourneau faces a charge of unlawful possession.

Almeida was transferred into federal custody. Letourneau was released from Androscoggin County Jail on $200 cash bail. Milliken remained in jail on $15,000 cash bail Friday night.
