WATERFORD – Church Women United is celebrating May Friendship Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, at the Congregational Church.

The theme is “In Faith, Women Shape the Future through Friendship.”

Pastor Diana Benjamin said, “Friendships are important in our lives. Some touch our souls helping us to be better than we ever dreamed we could be. We are created for community. The family is our first community, then it branches out from there to school, church, workplace and social events. Friendships are a natural and an integral part of everyday. Some are casual; a voice on the end of the phone. Others are meaningful and treasured. Trusted friends point us in the right direction.”

The fellowship of the least coin, penny, is part of the service. The gathering is open to all women. Direct questions to 583-4840.
