BETHEL – Gould Academy will host the opening of the school’s spring student art show in the Owen Art Gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 7. The show will feature pottery, ironwork, sculpture, paintings, photographs and drawings created by Gould students during their spring trimester art classes and independent study courses.
The art students made a strong showing in the 2004 Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibition held at the Maine College of Art in Portland this winter. Of eight Gould students who submitted their work, six received awards at the regional level and two went on to receive national awards.
The exhibit will be on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and weekends by appointment through Friday, May 28. It is free. For more information call 207-824-7700. For more information on Gould, go to www.gouldacademy.org.
