LEWISTON – Jean T. Rousseau, 80, of 83 Cumberland Ave., Lewiston, died Wednesday, May 5, at Central Maine Medical Center, following a long illness.

Born in Lewiston on Jan. 19, 1924, he was the son of George and Marie A. Croteau Rousseau. Educated locally, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the United States Army.

On May 30, 1951, he was married to the former Lorraine Domingue. An electrician by trade, he was a member of the Local 567 I.B.E.W., and worked in the local construction industry for many years.

A life-long member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, he also belonged to the Ss. Peter & Paul Society and the American Legion Post 22.

Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; two sons, Thomas and wife Katherine of Sabattus, and Paul and wife Linda of Saco; three daughters, Diane and husband Jacques Dostie of Auburn, Susan and husband Daniel Dostie of Harpswell, and Rachel Rousseau of Freeport; a brother, George A. and wife Rita of Lewiston; a sister, Hilda and husband Don Dion of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
