On April 16, ten LMS students ventured over to Sabattus Elementary to take part in their 2nd Invitational Chess Tournament. Thirty four competitors participated in the event. As the brackett progressed, competition was hard. There was a break in the play where the hosts provided refreshments of pizza and dessert. When the festivities were complete, the finalists were announced. Jonathan Caldwell, Doug LeBlanc, Luke Jensen, Ryan Murphy, and Adam Soucy took first through fifth place, respectively, All of the students would like to thank the coaches, Ms, Cook – Sabattus and Mr, Meyers – LMS for arranging this tournament. Thanks also to all the parents who helped out. Players are looking forward to next year’s event!! Thank you Sabattus!
