LEWISTON – Mabel L. (Dolly) Breton, 85, of Lisbon, died peacefully May 10, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lisbon Falls on July 28, 1918, the daughter of Ernest and Sadie Bartlett. She grew up on High Street in Lisbon Falls and graduated from Lisbon High School. On Aug. 15, 1937, she married Ludger H. Breton. They made their home in Lisbon where they raised their four children.

She was a devoted wife and mother and helped her husband run the family business, Breton’s Market on Main Street in Lisbon.

Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading, and gardening. She always welcomed a visit from her family, friends and her neighbor of almost 40 years, Doris Comisky. She spent many fun-filled summers with her family at their cottage in Cundy’s Harbor. The family reunions at the seashore will not soon be forgotten.

She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Janet Brousseau and her husband Ron of Burnham, and Joan Brown and her husband Don of Bowdoin; her two sons, Moe Breton and his wife Cindy of Lisbon, and David Breton and his wife Rae of Durham; her grandchildren, Margo Fitzgerald and husband Tim, Mark and wife Jackie, Jon, Nicole, Benn, Jeff, Jason and wife Jennifer Breton; also Amy Saucier and husband Chris, Linfred Locke Jr. and wife Penny, Billy and Trever Caron; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Shane, Shelby, Samantha, Riley, Emilee, Katy and Allie. We will miss you, “Mems.”

She was predeceased by her husband, Ludger “Peps” Breton May 13, 1990; and her two brothers, Lawrence and Freeman Bartlett.
