BRIDGTON – The Wound Center at Bridgton Hospital, a comprehensive outpatient clinic for the treatment of chronic wounds, is now accepting patients in the clinic wing of the hospital. According to Bridgton Hospital nurse Karen Harding, R.N., wound care specialist, “A chronic wound is considered one that has not healed by conventional means after approximately four weeks of treatment. Examples of wounds that will be treated at The Wound Center are diabetes ulcers, complex soft tissue wounds, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers.” The Wound Center at Bridgton Hospital will see patients on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
