LEWISTON – The Lewiston Salvation Army held April Vacation Bible School featuring the theme “Power Up For Jesus.” Hosting an average of 50 children, there were puppet shows, drama skits, music and meals served every day, with a focus on nutrition, exercise and spiritual fitness to equip the children to survive.

On Friday, the school moved to the Chalet Motel where everyone was able to use the pool, gym and game room to focus on the physical fitness of their lives in addition to the spiritual fitness. The motel provided a nutritious snack for lunch and the use of the facilities.

Sunday’s graduation ended the week with the children receiving diplomas and singing the songs they had learned through he week. Nearly 100 people were on hand for the finale.

It was because of the commitment of many adult and teen center volunteers that the week was well attended.
