ROSLINDALE, MASS.- Frances Bean, 87, formerly of Auburn and New York, entered into rest Friday, May 14, at the Hebrew Nursing Home for the Aged in Roslindale, Mass.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 29, 1916 the daughter of the late Henry and Nettie (Kowitz) Bean. Sister of the late William and Helen Bean, Alan and Minnie Bean both of Auburn and Pauline and Perry Gerson of Revere, Mass.

She was educated in Auburn schools and later attended the City College of New York. She later went on to work as controller for ICD of New York where she retired in 1981. She was a member of the Congregation Beth Abraham Synagogue in Auburn and among her interests were reading and writing stories, poetry and the time she spent at Tripp Lake.

She is survived by one sister, Shirley Bean and companion, Robert Ramsdell of Jamaica Plains, N.Y.; brother, Louis Bean and wife, Ruth of Wilmington, Del.; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
