OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, at the American Legion Hall, Route 121. A dinner will be served by the Rock-o-Dundee Snowmobile Club. Members are asked to bring their own place setting. Guests and new members are welcome.

Sunday speakers

NORWAY – The Rev. Joy Gasta’s message for Sunday, May 22, at the Norway UU Church will feature Nancy Wood and the Rev. Wells Staley-Mays. They will present a report of their recent trip to Cuba.

Worship services will begin at 11 a.m., led by Gasta, with Music Director Heather Pierson and the choir. Religious education will start at 11:15. Children will attend the first part of the service with their parents. A coffee social will follow the service. All are welcome. The church is located at 479 Main St.

Join for projects

OTISFIELD – The Spurr’s Corner Church of Otisfield and the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will work together on various projects.

Pastor Doug Kesler of the Spurr’s Corner Church and pastor of the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, the Rev. Gertrude DeCoteau, met recently to discuss various programs that the two churches will promote together.

One project is the bottle drive under way by the youth of Spurr’s Corner Church. The money that will be raised will be used for a youth group trip to Arizona this summer.

Anyone having bottles to donate can call Kesler at 627-4886. Anyone wanting more information may call Kesler or DeCoteau at 743-2438.

PARIS – The Bureau of Motor Vehicles Mobile License Unit will not be in South Paris on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. However, the unit will be available on Monday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.
