SABATTUS – Traffic on Sawyer Road will be detoured down Elm Street for much of the day Tuesday, May 18, while the Maine Department of Transportation repairs a catch basin.
Local access on Sawyer Road will be maintained from either end of the detour as far as the work area, but through traffic will be detoured onto Elm Street, said Bob Spencer of Maine DOT’S Dixfield Office, where the work is being coordinated.
The work area is between the two Sawyer Road intersections with Elm Street, Spencer said. The repairs should be a one-day project. If there is heavy rain Tuesday, the repairs will be postponed until Wednesday, he said.
