LITCHFIELD – American Legion Post 181 of Litchfield will conduct Memorial Day activities on Monday, May 31, beginning with a parade at 9 a.m. starting at the Central Fire Station.

Marchers will go to the monument area of the Litchfield Plains Cemetery followed by memorial services and recognition activities. The day will include a fly-over in recognition of the service of CWO5 Sharon Swartworth, who lost her life in a Blackhawk helicopter crash in Iraq.

Presentation of banners and certificates will be made to families of service members and World War II veterans.

In case of inclement weather, the activities, minus the fly-over, will take place at the Carrie Ricker School gym.
