AUBURN – Students from Auburn intermediate schools participated in the annual Auburn schools grade four math meet on April 29 at Webster School.

The event was held as part of the ongoing math enrichment activity through the Auburn Gifted and Talented Program facilitated by Joanie Simard and Carrie Beaulieu.

Students from Fairview, Sherwood Heights, Walton and Webster schools competed in individual and team events, which required participants to solve problems involving calculations, logical thinking and visual spatial math.

The team consisting of Meghan Poirier, Terryn Seger, Zack Hall, Jen Reithmann, Jordan Richmond and Chris Cloutier earned first-place honors.

In second place was the team composed of Niyati Desai, Ethan Polisky, Bryan Ring, Katherine Whitaker, Maddie Williamson and Sebastian Taylor.

Third-place team honors were shared by Nigel Bowles, Kristen Whitaker, Travis Landry, Scott Potter, Ben Applegarth and Kelly Philbrick.

Individual high scorer was Terryn Seger, followed by Chris Cloutier in second place. Nigel Bowles rounded out the field of individual winners in third place.

Other participants included Alec Bonang, Ben Bowles, Derrick Brigham, Alec Bunnell, Hannah Carrier, Phoebe Chamberlin, Jon Ciani, Brandon Daigneault, Josh DeLong, Lucas Faraggo, Mike Guadagno.

Also, Josh Hawley, Richard Hughes, Zack Kimball, Ryan Lafean, Cam Libby, Bianca L’Italien, Ansaar Mohamed, Mariah Mosher, Sarah Nichols, Abdifatah Omar, Michael Pfusch, Abby Sawyer and Robert Sepanek.
