FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street. Refreshments will be served.

The program will be “Digging Up the Past – Old Bottles and Collecting,” presented by Erlon Jones.

Plant sale

FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Homemakers Extension members are digging and splitting their garden and house plants for the annual fund-raiser project.

They are also crafting articles and baking goodies for the plant and white elephant sale. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Route 5.

A porcelain fairy doll will be raffled off at noon; raffle tickets are available from Extension members or at the plant sale.

Trap shoots

PARIS – The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association is holding weekly shooting competitions on Wednesday at its shooting range on the Buckfield Road, South Paris. The format is trap shooting only and the action begins at 5 p.m. and ends at dark. Each round costs $2.50 and all proceeds benefit the club. Special targets are released at random that allow a sharpshooter the chance to win a free round.

Bridge play

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge sponsored a charity bridge game to benefit Alzheimer research. Winners for the session were: first, Marianne Avery and Janice Wolfe; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, Marilyn and Eric Sahlberg; and fourth, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings.

Also winning points for the day were Woodrow Mercier and Beverly Dolan along with Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.
