LEWISTON – Lewiston-Auburn Toastmasters Club 1741 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the Bates Mill Complex first-floor conference room, 35 Canal St.

The speakers will be Don Miville, Bob Sawyer and Joyce Kennedy. Toastmasters welcomes visitors and they are always looking for new members.

Official visit

AUBURN – Mt. Olivet Chapter 29, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the Masonic Hall, Turner Street. The grand conductress will make her official visit as the inspecting officer. All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be provided by Amy and Steve Peterson.

Remember when

NEW GLOUCESTER – The Remember When Senior Citizens will hold the final meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Julien’s Restaurant in Gray. Reservations are necessary. Leonard Brooks, in charge of the Shaker Village museum and library, will be speaker.

The club met May 4 with 16 present. Nancy Wilcox conducted the memorial service in memory of members who died during the year. Door prizes were won by Eleanor Albright and Marilyn Redmun. After a potluck lunch, retired Maine State Police Chief Andrew Demers addressed the group about his career with the state police.

Degree work

AUBURN – Tranquil Lodge 29, AF and AM, will work the Entered Apprentice Degree on a candidate at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the hall on Turner Street. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All Master Masons are welcome.

Camp activities

AUBURN – Modern Woodmen of America camp activities for June will include a Plant a Tree Project from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Pettengill Park. Members will also take part in the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society golf tournament at noon Friday, June 18, at the Fairlawn Golf Course. Proceeds will go toward a new shelter. Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on May 25 at the Multi-Purpose Center.

North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; second, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault.

Flight B winners were: first, Joann Morris and Marta Clements; second, Grace Merry and Alberta Turner.

East/West winners in Flight A were: David Lock and Patricia Garcia; second, Claire Lyons and Maude Abbott; third, Paul Pierce and Sharon Tyler. Flight B winners were Claire Lyons and Maude Abbott.

Another game will be played at the center on June 1. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met at Schooner Estates in Auburn on May 26. North/South winners were: first, David Lock and Martine Begert; second, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Bruce Murray and Lucille Theriault. East/West winners were: first, Mike Quinn and Fred Letourneau; second, Ray Sirois and John Hackett; third, Richard Horne and Nancy Lindgren.
