GORHAM, N.H. – Kids can learn to fish and try their luck on the shore of Wildcat Pond, located at Wildcat Ski Area, Route 16, on Saturday, June 5 during the White Mountain National Forest’s 13th annual Kids Free Fishing Day.

Kids age 15 and under are invited to bring an adult and their gear for a day of fishing and learning.

Jay Milot, U.S. Forest Service fisheries biologist, encourages everyone to “come on out and enjoy the great outdoors, learn about fish and the environment, and get in some free fishing for the day.” Learning stations, kids’ activities, prizes and a casting contest will add to the festivities.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with the activities ending at noon. Families are welcome to stay and fish in the afternoon.
