MONMOUTH – Hayle Warner, age 2, of Monmouth, participated in the Sunburst beauty pageant in Lewiston in February and came in runner-up. Her fees for the tri-state competition were waived because she placed next to the winner in that pageant.
Warner went to Portland for the tri-state competition, which included Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire, on May 7, 8 and 9. She won every category that she entered, including prettiest eyes, best attire, participation and scrapbooking.
Warner also received four trophies as well as the one for winning the title of tri-state queen. Her score was 96 percent, the highest given so far in a pageant of this type. A modeling scout from New York, who was in the audience, chose Warner to contact about future modeling.
Hayle was born a preemie on May 23, 2001. She is a determined 2-year-old who loves everybody and loves posing for the camera.
Her family includes her mother and father, Laurianne Warner and Scot Warner; brother, Scott; sisters, Shannon, Sarah and Sierra; and grandparents, Paul and Diane Warner and James Hudson.
Hayle will now go to Atlanta, Ga., in August where she will appear in the national competition.
