RUMFORD – The Rumford Hospital annual appeal enters its final month more than $6,000 short of its $50,000 goal, with $41,000 in the coffers and another $3,500 pledged.

The $50,000 will buy a blanket warmer for Radiology and the Emergency Department, an EKG monitor for ASU, a multi-station gym for Rehabilitation, recliners for Medical/Surgical and an infant warmer for the Birthing Center. The amount of $20,000 will be devoted to the renovations for the new, expanded Oncology Suite.

In a final push toward the goal, the hospital Development Committee, board and staff members are making personal appeals to individuals, families and businesses throughout the hospital community.

“This year’s appeal has already exceeded last year’s, but we set a very ambitious goal because we wanted so much to fund the oncology renovations,” said Don Cummings, Development Committee chairman. “We need our community to join us in this final push with gifts of any amount, no matter how small or large.”

People who wish to support the appeal may call the hospital’s community relations office at 369-1143 and ask to have a gift envelope mailed to them. Gift envelopes and appeal brochures are also available in hospital waiting rooms.
