RUMFORD – Expressive Movement Dance Studio of Rumford, owned and operated by Debbie Murphy, will perform the annual dance recital and dramatic production at 6 p.m. Friday, and Saturday, June 11 and 12, in Muskie Auditorium at Mountain Valley High School.

The show will feature dancers of all ages from the River Valley area, including guest appearances by several former members of Expressive Movement.

This year’s recital, titled “Full Faerie Magic,” is a story set in “The Deep Dark Woods” and focuses upon twin fairy sisters, Natasha (Rachel Hall) and Bernadette (Brianna Garcia).

The sisters must prove their worthiness to receive full fairy magic to the self-absorbed Fairy Queen Geraldine (Moriah Cormier). The Queen sends the sisters on an ill-defended quest and their fear of the dark, combined with their zany misadventures, creates havoc in the forest as they meet many highly animated creatures along the way.

The cast includes performers from many towns and showcases costumes designed by Karen Barrett of Mexico.

“Full Faerie Magic” was written and directed by Thea Dunn, who also wrote and recorded the song “Precious” for the play. The song was produced by Boris Popovich at Spiritual City Studios in Rumford.
