LEWISTON – Kora Temple Shrine of Lewiston has selected the Topsham Fairgrounds for its Summer Ceremonial to be held Friday through Sunday, June 11 to 13.

The highlight of the event for the public will be a parade from Topsham to Brunswick, stepping off at the fairgrounds at 10 a.m. It will proceed down Elm and Main streets in Topsham, across the Frank Woods Bridge and continue down Maine Street in Brunswick to the mall. The parade will include all of the special parade units from Kora Temple.

Kora Shrine Potentate O’Neil Morin said, “More than 500 Shriners and their families are expected to attend the Summer Ceremonial.”

Shriners will begin registering at the fairgrounds at 8 a.m. Friday. Some of the Shriners will camp at the fairgrounds during the three-day event. Others will travel to and from the event. Friday will include a men’s and women’s golf tournament, special degrees offered by some of the Kora units and evening entertainment by Nick Knowlton.

On Saturday, the Brunswick Knights of Columbus will host a breakfast for Shriners. At 9 a.m., parade units will begin lining up. Other Saturday activities include a women’s luncheon at the Harraseeket Inn at Freeport, the ceremonial at the exhibition hall and the Moslem Feast. The day will conclude with dancing to the Music Connection. On Sunday, Shriners will begin leaving the fairgrounds for their trip home.
