KINGFIELD – Virginia (Ginny) R. Spencer, 61, of Jay passed on to a painless place on Thursday, June 10, at her “favorite” sisters home in Kingfield surrounded by family after a long and very courageous battle with cancer.

“Ginny” was born in Augusta on April 22, 1943, the daughter of Arthur L. and Marion A. (Ashey) Sprague. She attended schools in Strong where she was a cheerleader and a majorette.

In June of 1961, she married Barry Spencer of Strong. They lived in Wilton for many years where she was very proud to be the head housekeeper at a local motel.

In later years in Jay, she cleaned some private homes and became close friends with some wonderful ladies.

She won many blue ribbons for her sewing and handiwork and all her friends have her homemade items in their homes.

She enjoyed yard sales and decorating her log home in Jay.

She is survived by her husband, Barry of Jay; sister, Judy and her husband Harold Boyce of Kingfield; daughter, Angel and her husband Craig Lorom of Westport; son, Buzzy (Barry Jr.) and Gloria of East Livermore; five grandchildren, Chad, Drew and Jared Legere and Derek and Somer Spencer.
