LEWISTON – Lloyd W. Robinson, 73, of Livermore, formerly of Farmington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1931, in Farmington, a son of Roger M. and Barbara (Tibbetts) Robinson. He attended Farmington High School, stopping between 1952 and 1954 to serve for two years in Germany in the U.S. Army where he specialized in heavy equipment repair, before returning to graduate.

He and his wife, Blanche, moved to Bell, Calif., where their first child, Barbara was born in 1959. In 1961, their twins, Don and Dale, were born in the old Farmington Hospital and two years later, the family returned to Escondido, Calif., where he worked for several years building Amigo Motor Homes while converting the “Red Barn”, an Escondido Landmark, into a family home, complete with a swimming Pool.

In subsequent years, the family moved to Simi Valley, Calif. and Reno, Nev., before returning to Franklin County in 1996, where they have since resided in East Wilton and Livermore.

He will be remembered by all for his great sense of humor and willingness to always help relatives and friends in need. He was a superb mechanic and carpenter and well known for his repair skills. He particularly enjoyed challenges, from making custom limos to rebuilding campers and motor homes. In addition, the Robinson family has worked as a team restoring many houses, including the houses currently owned by Barb, Don and Dale. All who worked with Mr. Robinson have learned from his positive

outlook on life and remarkable skills.

He has been a Trustee of the East Wilton Union Church which accepted and supported he and Blanche after their return to Maine. He will be remembered by his family for his incredible patience and the life lessons he has taught them. He was truly the cornerstone of the family and the thread woven into the fabric of their lives. Above all, the family will remember the joys and difficulties of their many cross country trips.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Blanche Sawyer Robinson of Livermore; daughter, Barbara Ramirez and husband, Michael of Reno, Nev.; sons, Donald and wife, Constance Robinson and Dale Robinson all of Livermore; sister, Jean Murch of Otisfield; sister-in-law, Loanne Robinson of Auburn; grandchildren, Jasmine, Jenna, Jerri-Lynn and Joy Arreola, Jamie Gregory and Shelby Robinson and great-grandchildren, Juliette McCuskey and Jonathan Seixas.

He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Frank Edward Robinson.
