HANOVER – Louise Brown Worcester, 85, died Saturday, June 12, at her 53 Howard Pond Road home in Hanover, following a period of declining health.

She was born June 19, 1918, in Hanover. She was the oldest child of Ira A. and Miriam F. Cole Brown. She attended Hanover and Rumford schools and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.

On Dec. 17, 1936, she married Frank W. Worcester at Rumford Center. Frank passed away on Oct. 19, 1994.

She was a member of the Hanover Superintending School Committee and for many years was a trustee for the Gardner Roberts Memorial Library in Hanover where she often volunteered as Librarian. Besides her family and her love of nature she was especially interested in local history and family genealogy.

She is survived by her three sons, David, Clement and wife, Donna and William Worcester and wife, Gail, all of Hanover; sister, Elizabeth Hayden of Hanover; two brothers, Robert and Stanley Brown of Hanover; five grandchildren, Daren Worcester and wife, Fran of Hooksett, N.H., Brian Worcester of Hanover, Brad Worcester and companion, Amanda Lobley of Belfast, Jenny Tirrell and husband, Matthew of Mechanic Falls and Michael Worcester of Hanover. and great-granddaughter, Kaylynn Glover-Worcester of Dixfield

She was predeceased by her parents and husband and brother, Richard Brown.
