WEST PARIS – The Oxford County Democrats inaugurated the summer season at Old Home Days in West Paris with a parade presence, including State Sen. Bruce Bryant of Dixfield, whose new district includes West Paris, and House of Representatives candidate Roy Gedat of Norway.

Bryant’s father, Bill Bryant of Canton, drove the float, which was preceded by walkers carrying signs for presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry and Congressman Mike Michaud.

The West Paris Democratic Committee operated a booth throughout the day, featuring a variety of candidates’ materials and an opportunity for volunteers to complete sign-up sheets and meet the candidates.

Anyone who would like to be involved may contact Oxford County Democratic Chairwoman Cathy Newell at 875-2116.

Karen Johnson chaired the Booth Committee, assisted by Jeanette Baldridge and Bill and Jane Gibson. Bottled water was given to those completing a survey.
